The Detroit faculty district’s board will interview 17 candidates for an open seat subsequent week, together with three who ran for at-large positions within the November election.
The entire candidates shall be interviewed throughout 4 particular board conferences July 21-24, that are open to the general public. They’re vying to fill the seat left vacant by Angelique Peterson-Mayberry, who resigned this month. The candidate chosen by the board will end out her time period by means of 2026.

Butler, Moore, and Steen unsuccessfully ran to be on the board within the November 2024 election, as did Harris in 2022 and 2020.
The interviews will happen on the twelfth ground of the Fisher constructing at these instances:
- 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on July 21
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 22
- 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on July 23
- 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 24
