Quezon province lifts advisory vs. diving actions

MANILA, Philippines – The Tourism Workplace of Quezon has lifted its short-lived advisory that briefly halted diving actions within the province.

The workplace on Saturday morning issued an advisory strictly prohibiting diving in Quezon over security considerations, days after two Russian divers died in Batangas’ Verde Island.

“Sa panibagong sulat mula sa Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na pinahatid sa Quezon Provincial Tourism Workplace, ipinababatid na ang kanilang naunang sulat ukol sa pagpapatigil ng diving actions sa nasasakupan ng ating lalawigan ay kanilang binabawi/binabago,” the most recent advisory said.

(In a brand new letter by the PCG to the Quezon Provincial Tourism Workplace, the company has retracted its suggestion to cease diving within the province.)

Regardless of the lifting, the tourism workplace urged divers and dive operators to train vigilance and take warning, particularly throughout dangerous climate.

Two Russians died on Feb. 27 after they had been swept by sturdy underwater currents whereas diving in Pulong Bato off Verde Island.

One of many casualties was discovered floating close to the shoreline of Pulong Bato, with each arms lacking.

The PCG believes the 29-year-old sufferer was already unconscious when he was injured by sturdy underwater currents earlier than drowning and being preyed upon.
